Job Summary
The Civic League of the Greater New Brunswick is seeking enthusiastic and dependable Paraprofessionals to support students in our Afterschool Programs. This role focuses on creating a safe, engaging, and positive environment while helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage elementary and middle school students during after-school programming.
- Assist with homework support, enrichment activities, and recreational programming.
- Encourage positive behavior and model professionalism and respect.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff.
- Help set up, clean up, and maintain program spaces.
- Ensure student safety and follow all program policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Facilitator or Program Director.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred.
- Experience working with middle school-aged youth in a school, after-school, camp, or community setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Reliable, organized, and committed to supporting youth success.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks.
