SME Contractors is seeking an experienced Concrete Foreman to lead crews performing sidewalks, curb, gutter, and ADA ramp construction on public works and transportation projects throughout Delaware.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise concrete crews on roadway and site construction projects
- Read and interpret plans, grades, and specifications
- Layout and construct ADA curb ramps, sidewalks, curb and gutter
- Verify ADA compliance, including running slopes, cross slopes, landings, and detectable warning surfaces
- Coordinate daily work activities, manpower, equipment, and materials
- Maintain production, quality, and safety standards
- Communicate with project managers, inspectors, and owners
- Complete daily reports and documentation
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of concrete construction experience
- Minimum 2 years in a foreman or crew leader role
- Strong understanding of ADA curb ramp requirements and grading
- Ability to independently determine and achieve required slopes and elevations
- Experience reading construction plans and grade stakes
- Ability to operate excavators, skid steers, and other construction equipment
- Valid driver's license required
- Reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- DelDOT experience
- CDL
- Experience with laser levels and grading equipment
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Applicants Must Be Able To:
- Build ADA ramps without constant supervision
- Understand and verify slope percentages in the field
- Fine grade using excavators and skid steers
- Set forms, establish grades, and produce work that passes inspection
Pay: $40.00 - $47.00 per hour
