Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Senior Staff Accountant (Operations) to join our growing accounting team. This role plays a critical part in supporting the financial operations of our real estate portfolio, with exposure to property accounting and an emphasis on operational accounting and tenant-level reconciliations.
The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, a proactive mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for operational entities
- Prepare and assist with balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., bank reconciliations, fixed assets)
- Manage and administer the tenant cost recovery reconciliation process
- Analyze variances, review general ledger activity, and prepare journal entries/adjustments
- Ensure accurate tenant invoices for monthly rent and recoverable charges
- Monitor and manage recurring entries, including depreciation
- Support accounting department management in all aspects of accounting
- Support year-end audits, financial reviews, and tax preparation
- Assist with forecasting and long-term financial analysis
- Assist with other duties and special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams (property management, construction, vendors, and tenants)
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and work both independently and collaboratively
- Positive, “can-do” attitude with a focus on continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in real estate or property accounting
- Familiarity with accounting ERP systems
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
