Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and prepare them for examinations or procedures
- Assist healthcare providers during patient exams by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and preparing necessary supplies
- Administer basic treatments such as injections, vaccinations, or wound care under supervision
- Manage patient records accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems and ensure confidentiality at all times
- Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and coordinate referrals with specialists or labs
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical equipment and exam rooms to uphold safety standards
- Support administrative tasks including answering phones, managing patient check-in/check-out processes, and handling documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified Medical Assistant program preferred
- Proven experience in a clinical setting or healthcare environment is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and infection control protocols
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with patients of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems required
- Certification such as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a plus but not mandatory
