To teach the BUS 100 course which prepares students for the college experience, builds professional and technical skills, and introduces students in business careers. Course content includes the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Power Point, Excel, and then builds learning skills including time management, navigating a learning management platform, and study skills, and begins to develop professional skills including interpersonal communication, writing, customer service, teamwork, and problem solving. The course integrates engaging learning modalities including guest speakers, group activities, case studies.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a business discipline.
- Professional experience in business and some teaching experience at the college level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidate must be able to teach the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and be an engaging, interactive teacher who can motivate Freshman to be curious learners and succeed academically.
- Candidate should have knowledge of customer service principles and possess strong presentation skills.
- Candidate should be willing and able to mentor and coach students.
Environmental Conditions
This is an in person class taught in a RIC classroom. Candidates should be able to navigate the RIC learning platform Blackboard.

- UNION ELIGIBILITY: Adjuncts become eligible to join the RIC/AFT Adjunct Union if they complete 6 load hours (excludes applied music) within the two previous consecutive years.
- Payment is made once a month; applicable taxes are withheld.
- There are no fringe benefits with this position.
- Upon hire, candidate will be required to provide an official transcript of highest degree earned.
