Job Description:
Cooks are responsible for preparing Riceby food products adhering to our established recipes, processes and standards. Cooks are required to complete a Food Handler Training Certificate program within 30 days of hire.
A Cook’s roles and responsibilities include
· Preparing and cooking Riceby dishes and baked items following established recipes, processes and standards.
· Ensuring proper handling and storage of ingredients and cooked food items to maintain quality and food safety.
· Operating various kitchen equipment used in the food preparation and cooking steps.
· Monitoring food quality during preparation and cooking to ensure consistency and flavor.
· Maintaining clean and sanitized work areas, equipment, cookware and utensils.
· Coordinating with the Shift Manager to meet service demands and ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
· Adhering to all food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
· Assisting in front-of-the house operations when necessary.

Riceby is a fast service, drive thru and takeout only restaurant serving delicious pan-Asian flavors in convenient handheld form factor. Our innovative vision aims to provide a new and healthy alternative to burger and fries for people on the go, and for the first time ever in the Chicago area, our customers will be able to quickly pickup rice balls, rice bowls and Asian sandwiches in a drive-thru on their way to work! Heavily influenced by Filipino, Japanese and Korean cuisines, Riceby's menu features well-loved Asian dishes such as pork belly adobo, beef bulgogi, curry and egg rolls.
Requirements:
· At least 18 years of age.
· Know how to operate convection oven, induction range, deep fryer and other common commercial kitchen equipment.
· Previous experience as a cook in an Asian restaurant or similar environment.
Qualifications:
· Strong teamwork and reliability.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
· Strong attention to detail and a passion for culinary excellence.
