Maintenance Career Opportunities!
Maintenance Technician (Entry-Level – $21.12/hr.)
Entry level facility maintenance performing hands-on, general labor and support tasks across county buildings. Assist skilled trades staff, complete basic maintenance and repairs, and build foundational knowledge of building systems while working under close supervision.
Maintenance Mechanic I (Skilled – $23.98/hr.)
A skilled role performing moderately complex maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems. Work under general supervision to complete inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs while continuing to develop technical expertise.
Maintenance Mechanic II (Advanced – DOE)
Operate with greater independence performing advanced, skilled maintenance and troubleshooting. In addition to performing complex repairs and preventative maintenance, provide lead direction and training to less experienced staff, interpret plans and technical documents, and help plan and schedule maintenance activities to support efficient operations.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to the operation and maintenance of county buildings and their associated grounds. The duties assigned will require the ability to perform heavy physical labor efficiently. The position is located in the Ada County Operations Department.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Maintenance Technician works under the general supervision a Maintenance Supervisor who will assign the details of each specific assignment. Additional direction may be received from a designee.
The Maintenance Mechanic I performs varied moderately complex work under general supervision according to pre-defined guidelines.
The Maintenance Mechanic II can be distinguished from the Maintenance Mechanic I by demonstrating advanced technical ability, troubleshooting complex problems and applying leadership and communication skills to provide creative solutions to solve complex situations.
The Lead Maintenance Mechanic can be distinguished from the Maintenance Mechanic I and Maintenance Mechanic II by directly supervising Mechanics I & II in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor and applies leadership and communication skills to provide creative solutions to solve complex situations.
