Comfortside is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to support the Accounting Department and Controller in maintaining accurate financial records and timely financial reporting. This position is responsible for bank and account reconciliations, e-commerce transaction reconciliations, month-end close activities, inventory-related accounting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience in wholesale distribution and e-commerce operations, strong reconciliation skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
Cash & Account Reconciliations
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile credit card, merchant processing, and other cash-related accounts.
- Research and resolve unreconciled transactions and variances.
- Monitor cash activity and ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions.
E-Commerce Reconciliations
- Reconcile e-commerce sales transactions between sales platforms, payment processors, and the general ledger.
- Reconcile merchant accounts, including Shopify Payments, PayPal, Amazon, and other payment gateways as applicable.
- Monitor and reconcile refunds, chargebacks, discounts, promotions, and transaction fees.
- Ensure accurate recording of online sales, taxes, and settlement deposits.
- Investigate discrepancies between platform reports and accounting records.
Wholesale Distribution Operations
- Reconcile inventory-related accounts and assist with inventory adjustments and cycle count reporting.
- Support accounting for purchasing, vendor invoices, freight costs, and inventory receipts.
- Monitor inventory valuation and assist in maintaining accurate cost records.
- Reconcile vendor rebates, customer incentives, and promotional programs.
- Assist with analysis of gross margin, inventory turnover, and product profitability.
- Review sales transactions to ensure proper revenue recognition and product categorization.
- Support accounting for warehouse and distribution operations.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, and Sales teams to resolve inventory and transaction discrepancies.
- Assist with maintaining internal controls over inventory, purchasing, and cash management processes.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation, reporting, and accounting processes.
- Assist with implementation and optimization of accounting systems and internal controls.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Accounting Department.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of accounting experience.
- Experience with bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems(SAGE).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred
- Experience in wholesale distribution
- Experience with inventory accounting, purchasing, cost accounting, and distribution operations.
- Experience reconciling e-commerce transactions and payment processors.
- Familiarity with Shopify, Amazon, PayPal, and similar platforms.
- Understanding of sales tax requirements for wholesale and online sales.
- CPA candidate or pursuing a professional accounting certification is a plus
This is an in-person role. Our headquarters is currently located in Doral, Florida and will be relocating to Miramar, Florida in October.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
