As a Custodian, you will be responsible for ensuring that facilities are spotless, sanitized, and well-maintained, creating a positive experience for staff, visitors, and clients alike. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including floors, windows, restrooms, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and techniques.
- Handle various cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and window washing to ensure a pristine environment.
- Conduct sanitation procedures regularly to support infection control and maintain health standards.
- Operate cleaning machinery such as pressure washers and floor buffers safely and effectively.
- Manage laundry services when required, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens or uniforms.
- Properly handle chemicals used in cleaning processes while adhering to safety protocols and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and manual handling of supplies or equipment to ensure efficient workflow.
Requirements
- Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or institutional settings.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care, sanitation practices, and window cleaning.
- Experience with cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, vacuums, buffers, and chemical dispensers.
- Ability to handle chemicals safely following proper protocols for chemical handling and disposal.
- Strong manual handling skills with the physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive tasks.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with staff and visitors when needed.
- Familiarity with infection control procedures and maintaining high sanitation standards.
