Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, chairside assisting, and infection control practices. Experience with Open Dental is highly desirable, along with proficiency in general dentistry.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and assist with medical documentation as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care, fostering a positive patient experience.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when required.
- Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control standards within the clinic environment.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when applicable, contributing to advanced diagnostic procedures.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Dental Assistant is required;
- X-Ray and Radiology Certification is Required;
- Minimum 2 years of experience as Dental Assistant;
- CPR certification required
- Proficiency in Open Dental is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology related to dental practices.
- Familiarity with endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry procedures is beneficial.
- Experience with medical coding and documentation is a plus.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a sterile environment.
Hours:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday - Approx. 8 hours per day
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
