Position Overview: The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting operations of a growing family owned real estate development company. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting for the entire real estate portfolio along with assisting in GL reconciliations, preparing monthly financial statements and assisting with budgets and audits. The Senior Accountant also assists ownership with outside family financial and business matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mid-Month and Month-end reconciliation of corporate credit cards and ownership of receipt verification and cost coding
- Prepare monthly reconciliation schedules and assist in the month-end close process
- Assist with cash management including reconciling bank accounts and performing bank activities such as transfers & wires.
- Support accounts payable process.
- Record and reconcile property-related transactions, including common area maintenance (CAM), property taxes, insurance, utilities and broker fees
- Analyze account activity including researching, identifying, and proposing corrections where appropriate
- Assist with annual property budgets
- Assist with construction in process (CIP) budgets
- Collaborate with external departments to support alignment with and enforcement of accounting policies and procedures
- Prepare supporting documentation for internal/external audits and owner reporting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Year-end 1099 filing for multiple entities
- Prepare documents for property tax challenges
- Prepare and file sales tax for multiple entities
- Prepare year end schedules for annual audit
- Support CFO & Controller with special projects
- Assist with other outside family financial and business matters
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Experience with dynamic accounting ERP System
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of GAAP and property accounting principles
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the Senior Accountant is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. They are occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. They must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually very quiet.

Pay: $67,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
