Duties
- Assist senior stylists with hair cutting, coloring, styling, and finishing techniques to ensure flawless results.
- Prepare clients by consulting on hair care needs, discussing desired styles, and explaining treatment options.
- Maintain salon cleanliness by sanitizing tools, shampoo bowls, and workstations in accordance with sanitation standards.
- Support with the application of hair extensions and makeup to enhance client looks.
- Manage appointment schedules using salon software such as MINDBODY to optimize client flow.
- Upsell hair care products and services by educating clients on benefits and recommended treatments.
- Provide excellent client communication by listening carefully to preferences and offering personalized recommendations.
Experience
- Previous experience working in the beauty industry or a cosmetology environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
- Knowledge of salon software platforms like MINDBODY or similar systems for scheduling and client management.
- Familiarity with hair coloring techniques, color theory, and hair care products.
- Basic understanding of sanitation practices and salon safety protocols.
- Experience working with hair extensions, barbering tools such as straight razors, and makeup application is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
- Ability to mentor new team members and support store management in daily operations.
