Customer Service Representative (CSR)

Description of Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing all tasks and communication related to intake of patient information concerning the service of durable medical equipment (DME) and respiratory products and supplies with patients/clients, co-workers, and referral sources as it relates to patient services and third party reimbursement.
Responsibilities of the CSR include the following:
- Represent the Company in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with client/patients.
- Communicates with patients/clients and referral sources both verbally and in writing to ensure patient/client questions and concerns are processed in a timely manner.
- Involved, as directed, in all aspects of the intake process: answering the phone and processing faxes, collecting patient and referral source information, inputting data into appropriate systems, assembling charts and processing paperwork.
- Prepares delivery tickets for daily routes.
- Prepares complete and accurate files for billing department.
- Develops and maintains working knowledge of current products and services offered by the company.
- Provide technical assistance to customers, as appropriate.
- Develops and maintains a working knowledge of current Medicare, Medi-Cal, private insurances and regulatory body regulations.
- Assist in the upkeep of the general office area(s).
- Assist in resolving client equipment problems when appropriate.
- Assume on-call responsibilities in accordance with Company policy.
- Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required in accordance with Company policy.
- Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
- Participate in the Company’s Performance Management program as requested by the Performance Management Coordinator.
- Participate in Company committees when requested.
- Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Effective interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
- One year of home medical equipment experience preferred.
- Strong customer service background preferred.
