Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Occupational Nurse to join our healthcare team on a per-diem basis (Saturday and Sunday). In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care within occupational health settings, ensuring the well-being of employees across various industries. Your expertise will support injury prevention, health screenings, and wellness initiatives, fostering a safe and healthy work environment. Responsibilities
- Conduct health assessments, screenings, and physical examinations for employees in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards
- Manage injury documentation, triage workplace injuries, and coordinate appropriate medical referrals
- Assist with ergonomic evaluations, health coaching, and wellness education programs to promote employee well-being
- Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth
- Support occupational health initiatives by participating in safety audits, infection control practices, and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Experience
- Proven experience working as an occupational nurse or in a similar healthcare setting with exposure to workplace health programs
- Strong background in medical office procedures, triage, and patient assessment techniques
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth for documentation and record management
- Experience administering injections, performing venipuncture (phlebotomy), and managing acute pain or injury cases
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law and OSHA standards related to occupational health and safety
- Prior experience in emergency medicine, critical care environments such as ICU or trauma centers is highly desirable
- Ability to handle diverse patient populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring memory care support
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred
