About the Position
A private membership-based club in South Florida is looking for an Assistant Club Manager to help oversee the club's daily operations while maintaining a consistently high level of service for members and guests.
This is a hands-on management opportunity suited for a highly organized and personable professional with experience in hospitality, membership services, VIP services, or another service-focused environment.
The Assistant Club Manager will work across a broad range of functions, including member relations, staff coordination, administrative operations, events, scheduling, vendors, and general club activities. The position involves regular interaction with members, prospective members, employees, vendors, and leadership.
The schedule is flexible but will include some evenings and weekends based on club operations and scheduled events.
Primary Areas of Responsibility
Member Relations & Club Operations
- Help manage the club's day-to-day activities and contribute to a consistently positive member and guest experience.
- Act as a key contact for members and assist with questions, requests, and service needs in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Meet with prospective and new members, provide facility tours, complete membership paperwork, and process payments.
- Maintain regular office hours to provide member services and administrative assistance.
- Coordinate member-related activities such as meetings, lessons, private events, and other scheduled programs.
- Support the overall operational needs of the club and assist with additional projects as required.
Team, Vendor & Facility Coordination
- Assist in coordinating personnel working across member services, food and beverage, facility operations, instructors, and contracted services.
- Help manage scheduling and daily staffing coordination to maintain appropriate coverage.
- Work alongside employees and outside vendors to help maintain established operational and service standards.
- Assist with the coordination of various functions necessary for smooth club operations.
Events & Membership Operations
- Coordinate and oversee member events as well as private and corporate functions.
- Handle membership-related administrative activities, including billing and renewals, through applicable online platforms.
- Keep membership information, records, and documentation organized and accurate.
- Contribute to member retention by providing responsive service, resolving needs efficiently, and following through on requests.
- Support a high level of overall member satisfaction.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Respond to current and prospective member inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide support with general office functions and web-based systems.
- Assist with other administrative and operational responsibilities as needed.
- Take ownership of additional assignments and projects that support the club, its members, and overall operations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have:
- Prior experience in hospitality, customer service, membership services, recreation, or another service-oriented environment.
- A demonstrated ability to deliver strong customer service and develop positive relationships with members, clients, and guests.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
- Working proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, web-based systems, and social media platforms.
- A valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
- The ability to travel locally when necessary and occasionally provide support at other area facilities.
- The physical ability to regularly lift and carry approximately 50 pounds.
Preferred Background
The following would be beneficial but are not required:
- College degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Background in club management or event coordination.
- Familiarity with membership management, billing, scheduling, or customer relationship management systems.
Industry-specific club experience is not required. Training will be provided to qualified candidates.
Schedule & Other Requirements
- Full-time opportunity with a flexible schedule.
- Some evening and weekend availability will be necessary depending on club operations and member events.
- Local travel may occasionally be required.
- Candidates must be able to successfully complete a background screening.
- Candidates must meet all applicable legal eligibility requirements associated with the facility's operations.
- Work is performed in person.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary: $60,000 - $80,000, based on experience.
