Montessori Upper Elementary Teacher
The CREC Montessori Magnet School in Hartford, Connecticut seeks a committed, dedicated, and passionate Elementary Teacher. The candidate must have the appropriate AMI diploma (Elementary).
We implement these five essential Montessori practices at our school:
- Mixed-age grouping, which fosters independence, cooperation, and discovery;
- Large blocks of uninterrupted time for self-directed work;
- An environment that allows for maximum freedom of movement and choice;
- An overall emphasis on intrinsic motivation rather than rewards or punishments;
- Prepared staff who are skilled at observation, preparing an environment, and interacting with children in positive, respectful ways
The candidate must also possess or be eligible for a CT State teaching certificate. The successful candidate should have the ability to work collaboratively and be an effective communicator. Experience working in a public school setting is preferred.
