We are seeking a skilled CNC Maintenance Mechanic to support our ITAR-registered, ISO 9001/AS9100 aerospace manufacturing facility. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding complex CNC machinery to minimize downtime and keep production running efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with multi-axis CNC equipment, and the ability to diagnose issues, complete repairs, and work with OEM service providers when specialized support is needed.
- Perform mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical repairs on CNC equipment, including machines such as Mazak, Mori Seiki, and Daewoo Lynx.
- Troubleshoot CNC machine failures, alarms, controls, and drive issues (Fanuc, Mazatrol, Siemens 840D).
- Repair and replace components including ball screws, spindles, turrets, hydraulic pumps, and other precision machine assemblies.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Support machine installations, startups, rebuilds, and equipment improvements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Partner with production teams to prioritize repairs and support manufacturing goals.
- Coordinate with OEM technicians and outside vendors for advanced repairs.
- Follow ISO 9001/AS9100 procedures, safety requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- 3+ years of hands-on CNC machine tool maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience repairing complex machinery.
- Experience troubleshooting CNC controls including Fanuc, Mazatrol, and/or Siemens 840D.
- Ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing preferred.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to ITAR/EAR requirements.
- Precision measurement and mechanical assembly experience.
- Knowledge of welding, carpentry, and basic plumbing.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or flexible hours as needed to support production requirements.
- Hands-on manufacturing environment with exposure to CNC machinery, moving equipment, noise, and industrial conditions.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working around large equipment.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
