The Working Journeyman Electrician is responsible for performing skilled electrical work on commercial construction projects. This role combines expert hands-on installation with leadership in supporting apprentices and contributing to job-site efficiency. The ideal candidate is proficient in interpreting blueprints, installing electrical systems per NEC standards, and maintaining safety and quality on site
Responsibilities:

Work on and around high voltage energized and general electrical equipment.

Install various types of electrical conduit systems according to NEC standards.

Cut, bend, and run conduit as specified on blueprints.
-
Set up and maintain temporary power systems.
-
Install and maintain grounding systems for all equipment and structures.
-
Install junction boxes, panels, switches, plugs, and fixtures.
-
Terminate wires and cables to electrical equipment, including breakers, control panels, and distribution systems, with technical understanding and quality craftsmanship.

Test electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings per specifications.

Build out electrical services and demonstrate knowledge in service applications.

Communicate and work under the direction of a Supervisor/Foreman (Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician).

Able to work well under pressure, especially when facing tight timelines, unexpected delays, or urgent tasks.

Strength & Dexterity – Must lift 50+ lbs and have the upper body strength and manual dexterity to handle tools, wiring, and heavy materials.

Flexibility – Capable of working in tight spaces, elevated areas, and awkward positions.

Vision – Excellent vision, including color perception, to accurately identify wires and components.

Coordination & Balance – Strong hand-eye coordination and balance for precise work on ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms.

Other Requirements – Must be able to handle a physical workload, possess personal tools, and have reliable transportation.
