Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Girls Youth Basketball Coach (Part-Time) to inspire and develop young female athletes through engaging basketball training and mentorship. In this role, you will lead youth basketball sessions, foster teamwork, promote sportsmanship, and help players improve their skills while ensuring a positive and inclusive environment. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate basketball drills, practices, and game strategies tailored to girls’ skill levels
- Foster a supportive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, discipline, and fun
- Provide coaching instruction on fundamental basketball skills such as shooting, passing, dribbling, and defense
- Monitor player development and offer constructive feedback to encourage improvement
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities, including first aid readiness and AED operation when necessary
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding player progress and team updates
- Promote positive behavior management to maintain a respectful and motivating atmosphere for all participants
Skills
- Experience working with children in sports or educational settings, especially with youth girls’ teams
- Strong knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, and coaching methods
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with players, parents, and team staff
- Ability to lead teams confidently while demonstrating leadership qualities in a dynamic environment
- Familiarity with first aid procedures, CPR certification, AED operation, and child safety protocols
- Childcare experience combined with behavior management skills to support diverse youth needs
