Training and Development
As a Sheet Metal Welder, you'll be part of a team that fabricates high-quality rectangular, round, and oval HVAC ductwork, as well as roof curbs and curb adapters. This is a hands-on fabrication position, so you'll be involved in a variety of manufacturing processes beyond welding.

MIG welding galvanized, carbon steel, and stainless steel

Welding lightgauge materials (primarily 1426 gauge)
-
Hand plasma cutting
-
Layout and fitup
-
Reading and interpreting blueprints and shop drawings
-
Operating fabrication equipment, including cold saws, chop saws, ironworkers, press brakes, and hand brakes
-
Insulating ductwork and roof curbs
-
Preparing and palletizing finished products for shipment
Because we operate as a team, welders also assist with duct assembly and other fabrication tasks when welding demand is lower.

Minimum of two years of MIG welding experience

Experience welding lightgauge materials (1426 gauge)

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings

Reliable, punctual, and committed to producing quality work

Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt

Able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team

Available to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (4050 hours per week)

Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting 50 pounds or more and standing for extended periods

Zinger Sheet Metal is a third generation family owned company serving the HVAC industry since 1954. Zinger Sheet Metal was started in a garage by Henry and Harold Zinger. The Zinger brothers were innovative and understood the value of installing prefabricated duct. Under the ownership of Nelson Capestany, Henry’s son in law, the company grew by investing in machinery and manufacturing processes. David Capestany, the grandson of Henry Zinger, has continued to grow the company through expanded product offerings, technology and a culture of continuous improvement.
