Olympic Heating, A/C & Plumbing is seeking a dependable and motivated HVAC Technician Helper / Apprentice to join our team.
The ideal candidate is hardworking, reliable, mechanically inclined, and eager to continue learning the HVAC trade while working alongside experienced technicians.
Responsibilities
- Assist in installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Use hand tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Support senior technicians with plumbing connections, refrigerant handling (including ammonia refrigeration), and electrical system diagnostics.
- Conduct equipment repairs and system upgrades following safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all work performed; communicate effectively with customers about system status and recommended solutions.
Experience
- Minimum of one year of HVAC experience required
- Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics, plumbing practices, and building automation systems enhances your candidacy.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience using hand tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools is essential.
- Experience with equipment troubleshooting, system installation, maintenance tasks, appliance repair or property maintenance is advantageous.
- Possession of an EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required; a valid driver’s license is necessary for field service work.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely with electrical systems and mechanical components while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
