Job Summary
We are looking for an energetic, reliable Hot Dog Grill Cook/ Support to join our team for Seattle game days and special events. You will operate the grill at our high-volume hot dog stand, delivering fast, high-quality food to hungry fans before, during, and after games and events. This is a fast-paced, outdoor (or tented) role that requires strong customer service skills, attention to food safety, and the ability to thrive in a high-energy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and grill hot dogs, sausages, and related items to order with consistent quality and speed
- Maintain proper food temperatures, rotation, and presentation throughout the shift
- Assemble orders accurately (standard and customized toppings, condiments, and sides)
- Keep the grill, prep area, and service counter clean, organized, and compliant with health department standards
- Manage inventory of buns, dogs, toppings, and supplies; restock as needed during service
- Provide friendly, efficient customer service and handle high-volume rush periods
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and event-site safety protocols
- Assist with setup, breakdown, and packing of the stand at the start and end of each event
- Communicate clearly with stand leads and teammates to keep service flowing smoothly
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, grilling, or high-volume quick-service environments preferred (but we will train)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying Seattle weather conditions
- Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and food safety guidelines
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy gameday atmosphere
- Reliable transportation to SoDo event locations
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40–50 lbs, and work in a hot grill environment
- Positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and good customer service skills
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and major gameday/event schedules (Mariners, Seahawks, Sounders, concerts, and other SoDo events)
Preferred Qualifications
- Washington State Food Worker Card (or willingness to obtain immediately)
- Prior experience with outdoor/event or stadium-style food service
- Familiarity with high-volume grilling and inventory management during rushes
Schedule & Compensation
Shifts are event-driven and typically range from 4–8+ hours depending on the event. Peak demand occurs on game days and major events. Competitive hourly wage plus tips. Opportunities for increased hours during busy seasons.
