Duties
- Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras to detect suspicious activity and ensure perimeter security where applicable.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, including buildings, parking areas, and restricted zones, to identify potential security breaches or hazards.
- Control access to the facility using access control systems, verifying identities and authorizations of employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents by following established emergency response procedures.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or unusual activities for record-keeping and future reference.
- Perform background checks on new employees or contractors as part of the onboarding process to ensure security compliance.
- Assist in conflict de-escalation and manage difficult situations with professionalism and tact while maintaining safety standards.
Skills
- Strong surveillance skills with experience operating CCTV systems effectively.
- Background in military or law enforcement enhances situational awareness and emergency response capabilities.
- Certified in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and Taser use for emergency situations.
- Knowledge of physical security measures including manual handling, heavy lifting, and firearm handling where applicable.
- Excellent conflict management and conflict de-escalation skills to handle tense situations calmly.
- Familiarity with access control systems and performing background checks for personnel screening.
- Ability to write clear incident reports accurately while adhering to security regulations and compliance standards.
- Demonstrated customer service skills to interact positively with visitors and staff while enforcing security policies effectively.
