As a Network Control Technician, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USPS. You will play a crucial role in technical support functions at USPS.
We are seeking a seasoned Network Control Technician to join our team. This candidate will play a critical role in providing technical assistance and training to end users.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides technical assistance and training to end-users. Complex hardware and software support responsibilities, as well as increased skills in such areas as troubleshooting, application support, hardware installation, hardware/software integration, evaluation of vendor software packages, interface with external hardware/software vendors, or customer service responsibilities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Technical Support for end users, including off-hours support. Installs, modifies, configures, upgrades, and troubleshoots personal computer hardware and software Installs, configures, and maintains peripheral equipment (e.g. printers, scanners, monitors, keyboards, IP phones, etc.). Physical maintenance of networking equipment (Wireless Access Points, Cisco switches, ethernet cabling), including replacing failed access points and network switches. Diagnoses hardware, software, and end-user problems and takes remedial actions. Assists with the implementation of procedural changes. Install, modify, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot application related software, including, but not limited to, Microsoft products, Oracle Products, Developer Tools (Git, UFT, SQLDeveloper, etc.), virus protection, and general office automation.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited College/University is preferred.

Alternative Path: If the candidate does not possess a relevant four-year degree, an additional four years of relevant work experience will be required.
Required Experience:

Minimum of 3-7 years of relevant experience
Security Clearance Level:

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting

This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.
