We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Surgical Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Assist during oral surgery procedures by preparing and passing dental instruments, ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready for use.
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while managing patient records and medical documentation accurately within EMR systems such as Dentrix or Epic.
- Operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, and other surgical tools with precision and adherence to infection prevention management protocols.
- Take and develop dental x-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and managing patient comfort throughout treatment.
- Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques to prevent infection transmission.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow during complex oral surgeries like oral surgery or endodontics procedures.
Skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for accurate documentation and scheduling.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures related to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Expertise in infection prevention management, including sterilization procedures and aseptic technique to uphold the highest standards of healthcare infection control.
- Skilled in dental instrument processing, dental sterilization procedures, and handling advanced dental equipment including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices.
- Experience with patient management software for scheduling, treatment planning, and maintaining detailed medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent communication with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
- Knowledge of medical coding and documentation practices necessary for accurate billing and record keeping within a healthcare setting.

Pay: $25.15 - $30.29 per hour
