The Public Works Department is actively seeking two (2) Project Inspectors - Landscape.

This is technical work inspecting contracted services and various types of landscape construction projects to ensure compliance with the City of Jacksonville standards and contract specifications. The work requires knowledge of contract administration and the techniques, methods, practices, and procedures used in maintenance and construction of various types of projects which is usually gained through experience. Contacts with citizens and contractors require courtesy, tact, and skills in understanding and influencing people to resolve maintenance and construction problems and complaints. The work is standardized with specific procedures and specialized standards, because of changing priorities or different situations, the employee has the latitude to consider which of the many procedures or standards should be followed and in what sequence. The work is performed in the field where there are some risks and hazards, but they are known, predictable and controllable. The physical demands consist of walking, standing, sitting, and bending, and exposure to dust, dirt, and other unpleasant conditions. Operates standard office equipment such as computers, copiers and fax machines and must be capable of operating PH meters, soil probes, diameter tapes, measuring wheel, radios, and a motor vehicle. The work is performed under general supervision where the work assignments are varied, and latitude is permitted to set one's own priorities subject to superior's approval.
- Two (2) years of education and/or experience in landscape maintenance inspection or landscape construction.

Supervisory experience - preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

A valid driver's license is required at the time of application and must be maintained during employment in this class.

Must qualify for, obtain and maintain a City of Jacksonville public driver certification for employment in this class.

Agricultural experience and I.S.A. certification - preferred.
