Kaya Bliss is looking for a Cannabis Sales Associate to support a high-touch, compliant, and hospitality-focused dispensary experience. This role is best suited for someone with strong customer service instincts, reliable attendance, clear communication, and the ability to learn product knowledge in a regulated retail environment.
Our Budtenders are central to the Kaya Bliss customer experience. They help customers navigate our menu, understand product categories and methods of consumption, and select safe and effective products based on individual needs, preferences, and comfort level.
This is not a casual cannabis role. Our sales team is responsible for creating a welcoming customer experience while following ID verification, point-of-sale, cash handling, discount, product education, safety, and compliance procedures with consistency.

Greet customers and create a professional, welcoming retail experience

Ask thoughtful questions to understand customer needs, preferences, comfort level, and desired experience

Educate customers on cannabis product categories, consumption methods, effects, dosing considerations, onset time, duration, safety, and responsible purchasing

Support sales goals by recommending appropriate products and helping customers make informed decisions

Remain up to date on product knowledge, menu updates, active promotions, store events, brand information, and industry developments

Verify customer identification according to company policy and New York cannabis regulations

Accurately process transactions through the point-of-sale system

Follow all cash handling, discount, loyalty, and register procedures

Apply discounts correctly and only when authorized under company policy

Maintain accurate use and care of the POS system and related retail tools

Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and compliant sales floor

Restock products, support merchandising, and communicate inventory needs to leadership

Complete assigned shift duties accurately and on time

Communicate customer feedback, product concerns, complaints, safety issues, and operational needs to store leadership

Provide support to the management team to help retail operations run smoothly, properly, and in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures

- Retail, hospitality, customer service, wellness, or sales experience

Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older for customer-facing cannabis retail duties
- Must possess valid government-issued identification
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least 1 year of customer service experience preferred
- Must be able to stand and walk for long durations during scheduled shifts, with reasonable accommodation where required by law
- Must be able to complete required onboarding, verification, and training before beginning regulated duties
- Must remain compliant with all legal, regulatory, and company requirements for working in the cannabis industry
- Must be available for assigned shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and closing shifts as needed
- Must be able to follow all company policies, safety procedures, compliance requirements, directives, and standard operating procedures
- Customer-facing retail experience
- Previous dispensary, smoke shop, CBD, wellness, pharmacy, hospitality, or sales experience
- Basic cannabis product knowledge
- Familiarity with cannabis product categories, including flower, vapes, edibles, concentrates, tinctures, beverages, and topicals
- POS and cash handling experience
- Comfort using standard office equipment, computer systems, tablets, email, workplace communication tools, and basic software
- Bilingual or multilingual communication skills are a plus, especially Spanish or other languages commonly used by our customer base
This role requires the ability to stand and walk for long durations during scheduled shifts. It may also require speaking with customers throughout the shift, using a register, tablet, or computer system, reaching, bending, lifting retail products or supplies, restocking shelves, and maintaining awareness of the sales floor.
