Job Overview
Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Certified Veterinary Technician, where your expertise will directly impact the health and well-being of our diverse animal patients. In this energetic role, you will assist with surgical procedures, communicate with clients and deliver compassionate pet care. We are a busy mixed animal clinic, and while knowledge of all species is preferred, this job focuses mainly on our small animal patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and care
- Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for pets, clients, and staff
- Conduct laboratory work including blood draws, sample processing, and diagnostic testing using veterinary software and radiology diagnostics tools
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures, manage IV insertions, vascular access, and maintain aseptic techniques to promote patient safety
- Administer medications accurately and document all treatments in compliance with veterinary protocols
- Support pet owners through client communication by explaining procedures, post-operative care instructions, and answering questions professionally
- Maintain medical equipment operation, perform radiology imaging (X-ray), and assist with diagnostic radiology to aid in accurate diagnoses
Requirements
- Valid Wisconsin certification as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent credential from an accredited program
- Hands-on experience with dental terminology, pet grooming, and animal husbandry practices is preferred
- Demonstrated ability in emergency medicine and critical & intensive care scenarios involving small animals
- Proficiency in veterinary anesthesia monitoring, animal catheterization, IV insertion, and veterinary surgical assistance
- Familiarity with veterinary laboratory work, diagnostic radiology procedures, and medical equipment operation
- Excellent animal handling skills and animal restraint techniques to ensure safe procedures for all species involved

Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
