Position Summary:
The Director of Residence Life & Housing oversees the daily operation of student housing at Erie Preparatory Academy and helps create a safe, structured, faith-centered residential community. This person must be highly organized, able to work well with international students, and willing to respond to occasional late-night housing or student needs. Christian and boarding-school residence life roles commonly combine student formation, staff oversight, and residential operations in one position.
Responsibilities:
- Report directly to and work under the guidance of the Director.
- Oversee day-to-day housing operations, including maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and resident support.
- Conduct room checks and help ensure housing units meet health and safety standards.
- Coordinate repairs and upkeep with maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors.
- Serve as the main contact for housing questions, concerns, and student issues.
- Build a positive residential community that reflects the Christian mission of the school.
- Work effectively with foreign and international students and support their transition to residential life.
- Organize and lead RA and live-on staff training and ongoing development.
- Participate in and help coordinate the on-call duty rotation.
- Assist with airport pickups and drop-offs as needed.
- Attend staff meetings and events.
- Coordinate residential activities and schedules on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.
- Be able to work remotely during the summer for planning, communication, and housing coordination.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director/Principal.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Must align with and support the school’s Christian mission, values, and Statement of Faith. Christian schools often require employees to affirm the school’s faith commitments and serve as Christian role models.
- Must be located in the Erie area or willing to relocate to the Erie area for the school months. Job postings commonly use commute-or-relocate language for location-based roles.
- Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a residential school setting.
- Must work well with international students and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Must be available for evening, on-call, and occasional late-night response as needed for student or housing concerns.
- Must be able to work remotely during the summer months as needed for planning, communication, and residential coordination.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
