Account Manager
Candidate will be responsible for the overall management of their assigned clients, accomplished by communicating effectively and exercising discretionary judgment when interacting with the client’s consultants, key contacts and employees. Candidate will serve as a liaison between the client’s benefit vendor, client staff and internal team members. Candidate will develop and distribute benefit plan materials, analyze claims experience and make recommendations for plan changes as appropriate. Salary is negotiable based upon experience.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Interface with the client’s health plan consultant, key contacts and employees, and Plan vendors involving future Plan management as well as day-to-day issues.
- Coordinates the development and distribution of Plan materials: Plan amendments, Plan document, benefit booklets, Summary of Benefits Coverage, employee identification cards, enrollment forms, and other Plan materials as requested by the client or consultant.
- Resolving issues on an overall Plan level as well as employee issues which may involve eligibility, claims, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA Special Enrollment, PPACA, etc. which are elevated beyond the day-to-day type of employee instances that are handled by the Eligibility Analyst.
- Prepare and present appropriate reporting for the Board of Trustee meetings, key contact meetings, and employee enrollment meetings.
- Analyze the claims data, report findings to the consultant and client, and make recommendations for changes as appropriate.
- Presentation of the annual renewal contracts.
- Ensure all applicable contracts are in order and on file.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Required skills:
- Advanced knowledge of self-funded employee welfare benefit plans
- Intermediate understanding of federal laws applicable to administering employee welfare benefit plans (ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, Transparency, No Surprises Act)
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of client’s management team and employee population
- Detail oriented skill set to generate reports, analyze data and prepare comprehensive reporting
- Proven ability to exercise discretionary judgement
- Strong organization skills
- Travel required to client locations – primarily via driving but may also include commercial flights
