We seek a full-time postdoctoral scholar with expertise in engineering education research to contribute to a federally funded national initiative focused on examining Hispanic Serving Institutions role in graduate engineering education, while also supporting teaching and scholarly activities within the Department of Engineering Education. The postdoctoral scholar will divide their effort across three integrated areas: (1) advancing the funded project’s research, evaluation, and dissemination agenda; (2) contributing to graduate and undergraduate teaching and mentoring within the engineering education department; and (3) developing an independent line of engineering education research aligned with the scholar’s interests and expertise. The postdoctoral scholar will work closely with the principal investigators, faculty colleagues, and national partners, exercising both independent research judgment and collaborative leadership. Responsibilities include:
Hiring Range: $61,008 -$65,000

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Education, Engineering Education, Higher Education, Sociology, Psychology, or a closely related social science or STEM field at the time of appointment. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in qualitative and mixed-methods research, including experience designing and conducting interviews or focus groups. strong record of scholarly productivity—such as first- or co-authored publications, conference presentations, or reports—is expected, as is prior experience mentoring undergraduate or graduate researchers.
Desired Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have familiarity with research on doctoral education, mentoring, sense of belonging, or diversity and inclusion in STEM fields. The postdoctoral scholar should be highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects across institutional partners. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and institutional standards. The position is available immediately, with flexibility in start date.

• Lead-authorship on multiple manuscripts using a multi-institutional dataset. • Experience mentoring and coordinating doctoral student researchers.

The mission of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is to prepare the next generation of researchers by promoting career development and advancing the quality of the training of Ohio State’s postdoctoral scholars through support of postdoctoral trainees and faculty mentors. The OPA strives to be a national leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion. To that end, the office engages in and leads significant efforts to increase diversity among future leaders through the Professoriate Advancement Initiative, and the Researcher, Mentor, Teacher Program (RMT). The latter recruits transfer students - including underrepresented minoritized students - to do research under the mentorship of an RMT postdoc who will also have the opportunity to teach at Columbus State Community College.
