Job Description
Solu is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join our team. The Business Analyst serves as a Senior Level Analyst responsible for leading the Business Analysis activities for the Modernization and full re-write of enterprise .NET Applications. The BA3 acts as a bridge between business/program teams and software development teams, ensuring alignment, clarity, and traceability from intake of requirements through delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead the elicitation, documentation, and validation of business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Facilitate interviews and working sessions with program teams, SMEs, and technical staff.
- Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
- Document current state workflows, system dependencies, and processes.
- Design future state workflows aligned with modernization goals and .NET architectural changes, if any.
- Create process maps, decision trees, and workflow diagrams using Visio and other modeling tools.
- Support data migration planning by documenting data models, business rules, and transformation logic.
- Experience developing Quality-of-Service (non-functional) requirements. These are requirements that do not perform a specific function for the business requirement but are needed to support the functionality. Examples include performance, scalability, quality of service (QoS), security, and usability.
- Experience developing report specifications that define the purpose of a report, its justification, attributes and columns, owners, and runtime parameters.
- Strong organization and writing skills. Experienced developing graphic representations of complex business processes.
- Provide requisite support for Quality Assurance testing, UAT coordination, defect triage, and validation of fixes.
- Review system behavior to ensure alignment with documented requirements and program expectations.
- Communicate project status, risks, and decisions to the Project Manager and other leadership.
Qualifications
- Required: Understanding of application architecture, re-architecting, or rebuilding strategies, including Azure Functions, APIs, SQL Server, and .NET Core.
- Required: Experience performing legacy systems analysis and identifying integration points to determine modernization paths.
- Required: Familiarity with cloud technologies, microservices, and modern DevOps practices.
- Required: Experience with Project & Portfolio Management tools, including Clarity PPM, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, and other off-the-shelf operational systems.
- Required: 8 years of experience writing requirements for legacy system migration, re-factoring, or modernization projects.
- Required: Four-year college degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business with a focus on Technology.
- Required: At least one IIBA Business Analyst certification required. Agile/Scrum certifications are also highly valued.
