About The Opportunity
The Benefits and Compliance Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Company's employee benefit programs while ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. This position serves as a key resource for employees by providing guidance on benefit plans, coordinating with insurance carriers, payroll providers, and third-party administrators, and maintaining accurate records and reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities while handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA, FSA, and HRA plans.
- Manage employee benefit enrollments, terminations, life event changes, and annual open enrollment activities.
- Maintain accurate employee benefit records and ensure data integrity across payroll, benefits, and insurance systems.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit questions, providing guidance on eligibility, coverage, claims, and plan options.
- Coordinate with insurance brokers, carriers, third-party administrators (TPAs), and payroll providers to ensure accurate administration of benefit plans.
- Monitor compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA, and other employee benefit requirements.
- Assist with ACA reporting and required filings, including coordination of IRS Forms 1095 and related documentation.
- Administer leave programs, including FMLA, Short-Term Disability, Paid Family Leave, and related employee communications.
- Administer the Company's group life insurance and voluntary life insurance programs, including enrollments, beneficiary designations, coverage changes, claims assistance, and coordination with insurance carriers.
- Support the Company's overall compliance program by assisting with regulatory compliance initiatives, maintaining required compliance records and documentation, coordinating compliance-related activities, and serving as a point of contact for employee compliance reports and concerns.
- Prepare and maintain compliance notices, policies, required employee communications, and government reporting.
- Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and coordinate benefit-related payroll deductions and employer contributions.
- Assist with year-end benefit reporting, including information required for Form W-2 preparation.
- Prepare reports, audits, and supporting documentation related to employee benefits and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information and sensitive records.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting, insurance providers, and outside vendors to ensure efficient administration of benefit programs.
- Stay current on changes in employee benefits legislation and recommend process improvements to maintain compliance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience administering employee benefit programs and regulatory compliance in a Human Resources or Benefits role.
- Experience with ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and employee benefits administration strongly preferred.
- Experience working with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators (TPAs) preferred.
Required Skills

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred Certifications
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, CEBS, or similar professional certification is a plus, but not required.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
