Early Childhood Assistant Teacher Job Description
Rochester Arts & Sciences Academy (RASA) is seeking a caring, energetic, and student-centered Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to join our growing school community. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, supports a play-based and nurturing learning environment, and works collaboratively with lead teachers and staff to help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities
- Support the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
- Assist with supervising students during classroom activities, recess, meals, rest time, and transitions
- Work with individual students and small groups to support learning and development
- Encourage positive social interactions and emotional growth
- Help prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and activities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the classroom
- Communicate professionally and positively with staff and families
- Support classroom management and behavior expectations
- Assist with toileting and other childcare needs as necessary
- Participate in school meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude, patience, and flexibility
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
- Passion for working with preschool and early childhood students
