Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineer / Structural Engineering Lead to join our engineering team. This role is responsible for planning, analyzing, and designing structural systems for industrial and semiconductor facilities, with a focus on steel and reinforced concrete structures. The successful candidate will apply sound engineering judgment, perform structural analyses, ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, and lead small project teams while delivering high-quality engineering solutions on schedule and within budget.
Duties
- Plan and conduct structural engineering work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria.
- Perform structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, and industrial facility structures.
- Execute lateral load analysis and design for wind and seismic forces in accordance with applicable building codes and standards.
- Apply sound engineering judgment to solve complex structural engineering challenges while collaborating with peers and senior engineers when necessary.
- Develop structural calculations, design documents, technical reports, and engineering specifications.
- Perform detailed checking and review of engineering calculations, drawings, and design packages prepared by other engineers.
- Coordinate structural engineering activities with multidisciplinary project teams including civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and architectural disciplines.
- Utilize structural analysis and design software to evaluate structural performance and develop efficient design solutions.
- Support 3D model reviews and project coordination using Navisworks and Bluebeam.
- Manage assigned engineering tasks to meet project schedules, budgets, and quality objectives.
- Take ownership of assigned structural scope and ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Lead small engineering teams and coordinate project execution activities when assigned.
- Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, and client meetings as required.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable safety standards, building codes, and project requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 4 years of structural engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, and design methodologies.
- Experience with U.S. building codes and standards, including:
- International Building Code (IBC)
- ASCE 7
- ACI
- AISC
- Experience with structural engineering analysis and design software.
- Proficiency with Navisworks and Bluebeam.
- Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and reinforced concrete structures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Proven organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering or Master of Science in Structural Engineering.
- Experience in semiconductor manufacturing facilities, advanced technology facilities, or industrial facilities.
- Experience leading small engineering teams and coordinating project execution.
- Experience supporting EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.
- Familiarity with BIM-based project delivery and multidisciplinary design coordination.
