Optiq Health Labs
Role: Social Media & Content Manager (Hybrid)
About Optiq Health Labs
Optiq Health Labs is an independent third-party laboratory providing advanced analytical testing for research peptides and peptide-based products. Using LC-MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS, ELISA, and microbiological testing methods, we verify identity, purity, potency, and safety for manufacturers, distributors, researchers, compounding pharmacies, and consumers nationwide.
The peptide space is growing fast, and it's full of noise, hype, and unverified claims. Optiq exists to cut through that with real data. We're building a brand around transparency, scientific rigor, and trust, and we're looking for someone who can bring that mission to life on social media.
The Role
We're hiring a Social Media & Content Manager to build and run Optiq's social media presence from the ground up. This is a hybrid role:
- Some work happens in our Santa Ana lab, where you'll shoot content, learn our testing processes, and get face to face with the science
- The rest, including planning, editing, posting, strategy, and brainstorming, can be done remotely.
- This is a foundational hire for a new brand, with real ownership over how Optiq shows up online .
- Strong performance opens the door to a broader marketing role and full-time hours.
What You'll Do
Content Creation
- Shoot and edit Reels, Stories, and short form video, both in the lab and elsewhere
- Create content featuring lab processes, testing walkthroughs, product breakdowns, and education on peptide safety and quality
- Create static and graphic posts covering testing results, industry news, FAQs, and brand messaging
- Comfortably appear on camera when it serves the content
- Also create strong content without appearing on camera, such as process shots, product shots, motion graphics, and voiceover
- Translate technical lab concepts, like purity testing, identity verification, and contaminant screening, into content that's accurate, accessible, and genuinely interesting to a non-scientist audience
Strategy and Planning
- Build and maintain a content calendar across Instagram (primary), TikTok, and other relevant platforms
- Pitch original content ideas and formats, including trends, series concepts, and behind the scenes lab content
- Track performance (engagement, growth, reach) and adjust strategy based on what's working
Community and Posting
- Manage day to day posting, Stories, and account activity across all social platforms
- Monitor comments, DMs, and mentions
- Respond in a way that reflects Optiq's voice: credible, transparent, and approachable
- Stay current on trends and conversation in the peptide, wellness, and clean label/product safety space
Cross-Functional
- Work directly with lab staff and leadership to stay accurate on testing processes and terminology
- Understand what can and can't be claimed publicly
- Flag opportunities where social content could support broader marketing efforts as the role expands
What We're Looking For
- Genuine interest in, or willingness to quickly learn, the peptide space, clean/verified products, and lab based product safety testing
- Real experience creating and managing content on Instagram and TikTok/Reels, not just scheduling. Actual filming and editing experience is required
- Comfortable both in front of and behind the camera
- A strong eye for content that stops the scroll (pacing, hooks, visual style), balanced with the credibility.
- Able to communicate technical, regulated adjacent subject matter clearly and responsibly, without overstating claims
- Self directed, comfortable planning a calendar and generating original ideas
- Reliable transportation to our Santa Ana lab for in-person shoot days
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with peptides, research chemicals, supplements, or the broader biohacking/wellness space
- Basic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, or similar)
- Experience with a regulated, science adjacent, or trust driven brand (health, finance, legal, etc.)
Work Structure
- Hybrid: in-lab shoot days required, frequency based on content needs
- Remaining work (editing, scheduling, planning, community management) can be done remotely
- Starts as part time or contract, with a clear path to full-time hours based on performance
- Flexible scheduling around content and shoot day needs
Pay: $25 - $35 per hour, based on experience, with the ability to grow both compensation and hours as the role expands to full-time.
We're especially interested in seeing your actual work. A portfolio, reel examples, or account links will go a long way.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule
- Referral program
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Santa Ana, CA 92705
