Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Fleet Technician

Hercules Services is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of construction, tree care, and lifting equipment. Our fleet includes light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks, aerial lifts, bucket trucks, cranes, skid steers, loaders, chippers, stump grinders, and other specialized equipment. We also buy, sell, and refurbish equipment, creating additional earning opportunities for motivated team members.
This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in diagnosing problems, performing quality repairs, and keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain construction and tree service equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, cranes, bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and hydraulic equipment.
- Troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, PTOs, and air brake systems.
- Inspect equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Maintain accurate service records and parts inventory.
- Assist in preparing equipment for resale.
- Work independently while maintaining a clean and organized shop.
Qualifications
- Previous heavy equipment or fleet mechanic experience is required.
- Must provide your own professional mechanic's tools.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, and heavy equipment.
- Experience with cranes, aerial equipment, bucket trucks, or commercial trucks is highly preferred.
- CDL is a plus but not required.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
