Duties
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior components to ensure optimal performance.
- Repair and maintain facilities equipment including lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing fixtures, electrical wiring, and mechanical systems using hand tools and specialized diagnostic equipment like ohmmeters and schematics.
- Perform welding, carpentry, painting (including residential painting), and other trades to address repair needs across the hotel property.
- Manage maintenance requests efficiently using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), prioritize tasks, and document all work performed accurately.
- Supervise maintenance projects and team members when applicable, providing leadership and ensuring safety protocols are followed during all repair activities.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical circuits, HVAC systems, or mechanical failures with detailed diagnostics.
- Assist with building interior maintenance including facilities upkeep, painting touch-ups, carpentry repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations such as plumbing leaks or electrical failures to minimize guest disruption.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate repairs that impact guest services or operational efficiency while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role within the hospitality or manufacturing industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with hands-on skills in electrical work, plumbing system maintenance and repair, HVAC system repair, welding, carpentry, and painting.
- Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring and building systems; ability to read technical manuals and diagrams effectively.
- Proficiency with hand tools as well as specialized diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; experience with CMMS software is preferred.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical equipment repair techniques.
- Ability to perform electrical work safely following industry standards; experience with electrical equipment repair is essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues.
- Strong communication skills in English for clear documentation and effective teamwork; supervisory experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
