Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Water Jet Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating water jet cutting machines to produce precise stone according to detailed specifications. Your expertise will ensure high-quality output, efficient production processes, and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities
- Program and operate CNC water jet stone cutting machines using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to create accurate cuts on various materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and manufacturing specifications to ensure precise fabrication.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and materials on the water jet machine, ensuring proper calibration for optimal performance.
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on CNC water jet equipment to maintain high efficiency and quality standards.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet quality specifications.
- Collaborate with team members on materials handling, fabrication, assembly line processes, and packaging of finished products.
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine maintenance logs, and quality control documentation.
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming, including familiarity with Fanuc controls or similar systems.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings.
- Experience operating CNC water jet machines along with related equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, stamping presses, and welding tools.
- Knowledge of CAD software like SolidWorks for designing or modifying parts.
- Ability to operate hand tools, forklifts, and other warehouse handling equipment safely.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately during setup and inspection.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, tooling setup, quality control procedures, and materials handling in a factory environment.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience in factory settings involving assembly lines or packaging operations.
- Understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automated manufacturing systems.
