This is a hands-on engineering role where you will design, build, and own the hardware testing infrastructure from the ground up. You will be responsible for developing hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) test systems, production unit testing, and canary fleet processes that directly improve product reliability before products reach customers.
Working alongside Operations and Product Development, you will help establish the testing standards, procedures, and infrastructure that support the entire product lifecycle.
-
Design, build, and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) test systems for multiple hardware platforms.
-
Develop and manage production unit test processes that identify issues before products are deployed.
-
Build and own canary fleet testing processes, tools, and operational procedures.
-
Create and maintain test procedures, documentation, and engineering standards.
-
Analyze test results and provide actionable recommendations to improve hardware performance and reliability.
-
Lead root cause investigations on hardware failures and drive issues through resolution.
-
Partner with engineering and operations teams to align testing with real-world deployment conditions.
-
Build scalable test infrastructure, workflows, and tools from the ground up.
-
Support continuous improvement of hardware validation processes.
-
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
-
Experience designing, building, and operating hardware test systems.
-
Proven experience developing test procedures, documentation, and validation methodologies.
-
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for complex hardware systems.
-
Experience working across the complete hardware validation lifecycle.
-
Comfortable reading code, writing scripts, and working with Git repositories.
-
Self-directed with the ability to establish priorities and build processes independently.
-
Experience designing or maintaining Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) test environments.
-
Experience with data acquisition systems (DAQs), sensors, telemetry, or logging software.
-
Proficiency with Python, Git, and Linux.
-
Experience working with power electronics, battery systems, or high-voltage hardware.
-
Experience supporting both research and development and production manufacturing environments.
-
A hands-on approach to solving complex hardware challenges.
-
Strong ownership and accountability from concept through execution.
-
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Strong communication and technical documentation abilities.
-
A passion for building scalable testing systems that improve product quality and reliability.
This is an opportunity to build a test engineering function from the ground up. Your work will directly influence product reliability, manufacturing quality, and customer success while creating the infrastructure and processes that future engineering teams will rely on.
