Summary of the Role:
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineering Lead to support the development of advanced aerospace and avionics systems. This role serves as the technical focal point between customers, program management, and engineering teams while leading project execution from proposal development through delivery. The ideal candidate will bring strong aerospace project leadership experience, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to aviation safety, technical excellence, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead cross-functional engineering teams in the development of proposals, statements of work (SOWs), and associated cost estimates.
· Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and program management.
· Define and manage project scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, and resource forecasts using Microsoft Project.
· Monitor project performance and ensure adherence to schedules and budgets through Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies.
· Lead risk management activities to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
· Manage project baselines and control scope growth through effective change management processes.
· Coordinate and communicate project status, milestones, and challenges with internal and external stakeholders.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management practices and execution efficiency.
· Foster strong relationships with customers, certification agencies, and cross-functional teams.
· Support successful project execution while maintaining a strong focus on aviation safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
· Minimum of 6 years of experience in Project Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related project leadership roles within the Aerospace industry.
· Experience leading technical projects involving engineering teams and customer-facing interactions.
· Proficiency with project planning and scheduling tools, including Microsoft Project.
· Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and project performance tracking.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience developing commercial or military avionics systems, including products such as:
o Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems (TCAS)
o ADS-B Transponders
o Other commercial or military avionics platforms
· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
· Experience leading teams through Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and resolution.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
· Ability to effectively collaborate within cross-functional and global teams.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and changing requirements.
· Demonstrated passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and professional development.
· Willingness to travel as needed to customer locations and company sites.
