Step into a day where your craftsmanship turns precision sheet metal parts into ready-to-ship components. As our Precision Sheet Metal Finishing Technician, you’ll start by reviewing prints and work instructions, then move to the bench and equipment to remove burrs, soften edges, and deliver consistent surface finishes. You’ll wrap up by verifying dimensions, logging results, and teaming up with production to hit schedule and quality goals.

Perform hands-on grinding, deburring, and edge finishing using hand tools, power tools, and automated finishing equipment.

Remove sharp edges, burrs, and surface imperfections to meet customer, blueprint, and industry standards.

Deliver consistent surface finishes that align with work instructions and quality requirements.

Inspect parts visually and by touch to confirm smooth, defect-free surfaces.

Measure with calipers, micrometers, and related gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.

Document and escalate defects, inconsistencies, or process improvement ideas to supervisors.

Clean, service, and maintain grinders and finishing equipment to keep performance optimized.

Follow safety protocols and use PPE (gloves, safety glasses, respirators). Dispose of shavings and dust per safety and environmental guidelines.

Collaborate with machine operators, welders, and inspectors to meet production targets.

Assist with material handling and organize parts within the finishing area; support cross-training and help other production tasks as needed.

1+ year of experience in grinding, deburring, or metal finishing in manufacturing (preferred).

Background in precision sheet metal fabrication is a plus.

High school diploma or GED (preferred).

Skilled with hand grinders, deburring tools, and finishing equipment.

Able to read blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards.

Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity for small precision parts, and a solid work ethic—comfortable working independently or on a team.

Stand for extended periods; bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.; perform repetitive tasks.

Work around metal dust, noise, and variable temperatures in a production setting.

Regular interaction with production, engineering, quality, and management.
-
PPE (gloves, safety glasses, respirators) required.
