Duties
- Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain an organized checkout area, including stocking shelves and merchandising products for easy access
- Handle cash drawer balancing at the end of each shift with basic math skills and attention to detail
- Ensure proper phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or assisting over the phone
- Assist in inventory management tasks such as stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and supporting product displays
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is highly desirable
- Supervising experience is a plus, especially if it involved overseeing cash handling or customer service teams
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a valuable asset for serving diverse customers
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and retail math principles
- Ability to perform retail sales transactions accurately while maintaining high levels of customer service and professionalism
