Overview
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where your compassionate care and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Provide compassionate in-home care to elderly and disabled clients. Assist with personal care, daily living activities, meal preparation, companionship, medication reminders, and light housekeeping while helping clients maintain their independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Support patient care by documenting medical information clearly in medical records while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health support.
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, phlebotomy (drawing blood), and medication administration under supervision.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care environments like Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and promote safety across all patient interactions.
- Support patients in outpatient settings or home & community care environments by delivering compassionate caregiving tailored to each individual's needs.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program; active state license required.
- Experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including ICU, PICU, emergency medicine), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities; experience in dementia or memory care is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills paired with compassionate caregiving attitude; ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments like urgent care or behavioral health units.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks safely; experience using assistive devices like Hoyer lifts is a plus.
