Position Overview:
The Service Manager at AutoLenders is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service department, managing a team of service advisors and technicians, and ensuring the delivery of top-notch customer service. You will be accountable for meeting departmental goals, driving efficiency, and ensuring that customer vehicles are serviced in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate is a seasoned automotive professional with strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
The Service Manager has the following responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the service department team, including service advisors, technicians, and support staff, to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
- Oversee all aspects of service operations, including customer interactions, service scheduling, parts inventory, and workflow management.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve service department efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- Provide training, guidance, and coaching to team members, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Monitor performance metrics, track department goals, and address any issues that may impact service quality, customer satisfaction, or operational efficiency.
- Handle escalated customer concerns and service-related issues in a professional and timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment that adheres to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Manage service department budgets, control expenses, and ensure optimal use of resources.
- Ensure all service orders, repair orders, invoices, and customer records are accurately completed and processed in accordance with company procedures.
- Foster strong working relationships with parts and sales departments to ensure efficient communication and timely delivery of parts and services.
- Stay current with automotive technologies, service trends, and manufacturer guidelines to ensure the department is equipped to handle the latest repair techniques.
- Develop and implement promotional programs or service specials to drive service department growth.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies regarding service and repair operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the service department and dealership.

Requirements:
The Service Manager should have the following skills, education and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; automotive certifications (e.g., ASE) or related education preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in the automotive service industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostic processes.
- Proven experience in managing a team, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on building relationships and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical issues to customers in an understandable manner.
- Proficient in using service scheduling software, diagnostic tools, and other relevant technologies.
- Ability to manage budgets, expenses, and department financials effectively.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
- Some travel required.
