American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a NICU position requiring 2 years of NICU experience with trach/vent skills and an active MD or Compact RN license.

NICU unit within a pediatric hospital setting
-
Patient population includes neonates, infants, and pediatrics with diagnoses such as prematurity, AOP, ROP, BLD/CLD, cardiac defects, feeding issues, and NAS
-
Patient ratio of 1:3, up to 1:4 with lower acuity patient groups
-
Utilizes specialized equipment including trach/vents, PICCs/central lines, and TPN/IL
-
Alternating day and night shifts (3x12 hours), 7:00-19:00 and 19:30-7:30
-
36 hours per week with every other weekend required
-
Holiday coverage required as scheduled
-
Floating required within the specialty and sister units as needed
-
No on-call requirements

Meditech charting system experience preferred
-
Scrubs of any color or print permitted
-
Active RN license (MD state or Compact) required at time of submission
-
Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required (non-negotiable)

Experience with pediatric trach/vent patients required
-
BLS certification required (AHA only)
-
CPI certification required
-
ACLS preferred (AHA only)

NRP or AAP certification accepted
-
Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, and medication administration required
-
Ventilator management and tracheostomy care/management experience required
-
Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
-
Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonatal, infant, and pediatric patients including those with respiratory, cardiac, and feeding complications
-
Perform trach and ventilator management as part of daily patient care responsibilities
-
Support skills in blood product administration, TPN/lipids management, and anti-seizure medication administration are preferred
-
Assist with procedures such as lumbar puncture and manage seizure disorders as needed
-
Travelers are expected to float within their specialty and sister units with priority given to floating

Candidates residing under 50 miles from the facility are not accepted unless otherwise specified

Returning travelers must have been away from the system for at least 6 months following a prior assignment
-
Former staff members must be separated from the health system for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
