Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Boom Operator to join our dynamic construction and materials handling team. In this vital role, you will operate boom trucks and other lifting equipment to safely and efficiently move heavy loads across various construction sites and warehouses. Your expertise in crane operation, rigging, and load handling procedures will ensure projects progress smoothly while adhering to strict safety standards. Duties
- Operate boom trucks, cranes, forklifts, backhoes, excavators, and other heavy equipment with precision and safety awareness
- Coordinate load movements using overhead cranes and rigging techniques to ensure secure handling of materials
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of lifting equipment, including hydraulics, safety devices, and load securing rigging methods
- Follow construction workplace safety regulations and OSHA safety standards during all operations
- Handle materials safely within warehouse or construction sites, including shipping & receiving activities
- Implement load handling procedures in crane operations to prevent accidents or damage
- Maintain clear communication with team members regarding load positioning, movement plans, and safety protocols
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of cranes, hydraulics, lifting equipment, and material handling machinery
- Proven experience operating overhead cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, excavators, backhoes, and other heavy construction equipment
- Knowledge of construction site safety regulations and OSHA standards for safe equipment operation
- Skilled in rigging techniques and load securing methods to ensure safe lifting practices
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics related to crane operation and hydraulics systems
- Excellent understanding of construction workplace safety protocols and implementation of safety equipment usage
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members on-site and adhering to safety procedures
