The Community Library Network has a 40-hour per week Courier position open. This position will receive PERSI retirement benefits, health and dental insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave benefits. Works hours are primarily Monday – Friday.
This position will work independently under the direction of the Technical Services Manager to deliver library material to best meet the information needs of the community. The principal duties of the position are performed in the community and library environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Operates a library vehicle to deliver books and other library materials, equipment, and supplies among library branches and shared library collections in accordance with established delivery schedule and accepted safety standards
- Loads and unloads bins, packages, envelopes, and containers of books and other materials to assigned locations at each delivery stop
The successful applicant has:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency; Associate’s Degree or higher preferred
- Two year’s work experience in a transportation or delivery service setting
- Two year’s work experience in a public library setting
- Demonstrated working knowledge of core values of public libraries, serving the public good, and providing access to information
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
