Job type: Full-time (40-hours)
Salary: starting at $17.00 per hour, dependent upon years and level of experience
Job description:
- Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, provider offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
- Records patient data prior to each provider visit, including but not limited to vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and accurate medication reconciliation.
- Maintains electronic health record (EHR) with meticulous attention to detain.
- Obtains all necessary patient records as required by provider and verifies presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures.
- Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies, as needed.
- Assists provider with exams and procedures as requested.
- Assists with delegated patient education, including but not limited to distributing education literature, etc.
- Obtains blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions.
- Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, including but not limited to hormones and biological growth factors.
- Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
- Processes instruments and equipment as needed.
- Answers patient telephone calls, monitor voicemails and return patient phone calls.
- Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by provider.
- Schedules patient tests, procedures, and hospital admissions and schedules appointments to follow up on receipt of test results, as directed by the provider.
- Obtains new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc.
- Assisting with the referral process.
- IV insertions for infusions (if certified to do so)

Education, Certification, And Experience Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Must possess a high school or equivalent diploma; associate degree preferred.
- Medical Assistant certification required.
- Phlebotomy experience required.
Preferred Qualification:
- proficiency in English
- Must maintain current CPR, First Aid, and Therapeutic Options certifications.
Knowledge, Ability, And Skills:
- Must have the ability to maintain excellent member and family relationships and provide excellent customer service.
- Requires effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to stay organised and have critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills are a must
- Ability to utilize multiple types of office equipment (i.e., phones, copiers, fax, etc.)
- Ability to type 25 to 40 WPM is preferred.
- Experience with E-Clinical Works, preferred
- Must be able to utilize the internet and various web browsers.
