Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Smart Hands, Cabling Technician to join our technical team. This role involves providing on-site support for network and telecommunication installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance in various environments such as data centers, commercial facilities, and telecommunications sites. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical proficiency in cabling, networking, electrical systems, and equipment repair, ensuring seamless connectivity and system performance. Duties
- Install, terminate, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and low-voltage wiring in accordance with NEC standards.
- Perform fiber testing using specialized diagnostic tools to ensure optimal signal integrity.
- Configure and troubleshoot network equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and Avaya telephony systems.
- Conduct network wiring installations for LAN, Ethernet, VoIP systems, and telecommunication infrastructure.
- Utilize schematics and technical diagrams to accurately execute installation and repair tasks.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to diagnose electrical or network issues.
- Perform equipment repair and maintenance in data centers or field environments with minimal supervision.
- Assist with radio frequency (RF) testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper wireless communication performance.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients during installation or repair processes.
- Adhere to safety standards including NEC regulations while working with AC/DC electrical systems and power tools.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician or field technician specializing in telecommunications or networking.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN, Ethernet (Cat5/Cat6), fiber optics, schematics, and telecommunication systems.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, Avaya systems, VoIP solutions, RF testing, and low-voltage wiring.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics accurately.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, network testers, power meters, and other troubleshooting equipment.
- Electrical experience with AC/DC systems is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with NEC standards related to electrical wiring and safety protocols.
- Service technician experience in data centers or similar environments preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently using diagnostic tools.
- Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills for client interaction during installations or repairs.
- Ability to work independently in diverse field settings while maintaining safety standards.

Pay: $30.00 per hour
